MARGE Clothing: Nina and Naja

Marge-3036One of the brands that launched right about the same time when I launched my blog, was MARGE Clothing. I was immediately impressed by their unique, amazing collection, and I was thrilled when founder Kaersten Cooper agreed to an interview last year.  In December, during my trip to New York, I could finally see, feel and try the items I had been lusting after for a while when they got delivered to my hotel room in this festively wrapped box.

I felt like a kid at Christmas unpacking it. The package contained the Naja Ivory Crepe Pleated Skirt and the Nina Ivory Crepe Blouse. I had carefully measured myself in order to ensure the right size, using this very extensive size chart.

Though I was confident about the fit, sometimes, when receiving something I’ve been looking forward to, I procrastinate fitting, as I’d be hugely disappointed should it not fit. As long as I have not fitted it, there still is a chance it will fit. I know, the mind works in twisted ways. Anyway, back to Nina and Naja. I instantly loved the fabric and the look of the items.

Do you know that feeling that when you put something on for the very first time, that it just feels right? That it hugs you as if it was to say: “I’m your new best friend; you and I are going to have good times together. I’ll make you feel great every time we go out!” That’s how I felt in front of my hotel room mirror. Instantly Elevated.

Now, as both pieces are delicately ivory coloured, I had to promise Nina and Naja in return that I would look after them. So I do. I wear Naja when I want to impress at business meetings, and I pair Nina with skinny jeans to look casual chic. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I get more compliments on my outfit when wearing my MARGE pieces than with any other outfit I have ever worn.

The quality of the fabric is impeccable and the details and finishing are on point. The Naja skirt reaches the knee easily which makes it perfect for work. I tend to pair them with a pair of edgy heels, as that’s in perfect balance with a skirt of this length. I also love love love the pockets, as that gives it such an air of powerful nonchalance.

Then the Nina top, such a delightful piece! The wider cut makes that the top flows around comfortably, it’s very flattering. Because of the neutral colour, I think pairing it with a statement necklace in any colour is a go!

The sleeves of the Nina top are long, which is a treat!

It’s no mystery that I am very happy with my Marge Clothing pieces and if you are looking for investment pieces for your tall frame, this most certainly is the place to go. Currently, MARGE is preparing for the launch of the SS16 collection which is due soon, (and which I am very curious about) and while we are waiting for that, the current collection, including these two gorgeous pieces, is still available on the website.  XoXo.

I’m so happy to hear that MARGE clothing is just as amazing in person as it seems on the interwebs. I didn’t realize the skirt came with pockets! I love dresses and skirts with subtle pockets. I’m also in love with the pleat details of the skirt. Very nicely done. I think you’ve styled both pieces perfectly by choosing accompanying items with just the right amount of color. The next time I’m in the States, I’m definitely going to try to order some items from MARGE!
