Ever since Pretty Tall Fashion opened their second shop, I’ve been back a few times since it’s dangerously close to where I work. Sunday, they organised a fashion show, and I was going to be one of the runway models! I was very excited; not only was it fun to wear 6 different outfits that actually fit properly but it was also great to share this day with all these stunning tall women (and a few men) who made me feel short. I’m going to give you a glimpse of what happened backstage during the day! Come join.
The fun started last Tuesday when we met shop owner Inez at her store for a fitting to make sure all outfits fitted properly and that everyone felt comfortable in them. Everything was already labeled and ready to be tried on; if only every shopping spree was like this with everything ready to try… 😉
During the following days, Dutch local media got wind of the fact that there was going to be a tall fashion show (sorry non-Dutch readers… 🙂 )
Sunday arrived and I drove to Hoofddorp to get ready. All the hard work had been done, the outfits were taken care of in detail by Inez and her team, so all we needed to do was sit still while our hair and make-up was being done.
I had more curls than I’ve ever had I my life.
But after a while they became a bit less dramatic and turned into waves.
We even had some time to enjoy the sunshine before things kicked off.
Martine (pictured below) is the tallest woman of the Netherlands (as far as we know), standing an impressive 2.05m / 6’7ft (and a quarter). She was part of the show as well and as you can see, Pretty Tall even caters to jeans with an inseam suitable for her beautiful long legs.
It wasn’t all giggles, work had to be done too; we checked out the runway and got some instructions from the photographer on how (and where) to stop so she would be able to get the best outfits shots.
I will show the pictures that the photographer took in another post, so you’ll get an idea of the pieces that Pretty Tall has in store and why you should go there should you be in the area (or visit the webshop!). For now, I’ll leave you with a picture of the entire Tall Squad who made Sunday such a fun day on the Runway. 🙂
