Last week, following ‘the Longest day’, the first edition of ‘Tall Together’, an event for tall people, took place in NL. It would be a day where tall people could meet businesses focussing on anything ‘tall’, from beds to bikes to fashion and everything in between. I personally was most interested in the various fashion brands who were going to be there, and I was happy to be part of the fashion show, so I actually had the chance to try a few outfits on, which I’ll show you in this post!
The outfits were shown by ladies (and gents) of various age groups. It was great to see how much choice in tall fashion our tiny country actually has to offer.
I was showing one outfit for Pretty Tall Fashion, like I had done before. I actually tossed out all my flared jeans years ago as I was of the opinion that skinny accentuates our long legs better, and whilst I do still love my skinnies, I LOVED this pair of flared jeans.
I had to combine them with these awesome heels from Sequoia, Pretty Tall’s own line of clothes / shoes, as they’re really long! I have a ’35 inseam, so heels are a necessity for me for jeans this long! Look at that fringe, aren’t they gorgeous?
I also loved this outfit I was showing for Long Lady fashion, look at the leather jacket! This is one of those looks that I probs would not have tried on if it wasn’t for this fashion show, but I love the cool yet feminine look.
As you see in the captions, Sallee (from Tall Guides), came over to NL for this day and kindly offered to do my photography. She quickly ended up with multiple phones and a camera, so having long legs on the Frow is actually an advantage.
This was the entire group of awesome tall women (and 2 men! 🙂 ) who were part of the fashion show, including the retailers, the models and the mini-presenter in black.
Apart from fashion, I was also interested to see the ‘Spacerseat’; a simple but very clever device allowing extra leg space on a plane, which is perfect for flights in tight economy class seats, especially if you travel as much as I do. (Though wearing heels like I am in the pic below, will cancel out the gained extra centimeters, so you might want to consider wearing flats when traveling with long legs. )
Because the day was quite a success, there might be a second edition next year. This year, we had only Sallee representing the international tall community, but maybe we’ll see a few more non-Dutchies next year? I can be your tour guide! 🙂
