Here’s a confession: though quite intrigued by leather looks shown on Pinterest and Instagram by uber fashionable chicks, a leather look on myself is a bit out of my comfort zone. But that’s where great things happen, so when my blog-friend Lauren of Six Foot Style asked me if I was up for a style challenge, I couldn’t say no. We had both been commenting on the Hofsisters blog how we like this leather look they showed in their scandi signature style, so Lauren and I teamed up with Long Tall Sally to do a leather style challenge ourselves with these leatherette leggings.
As you might know, Lauren and I both normally lean a bit more toward chic office looks, and we love our girly dresses and skirts. Though I can’t wear leather to work, styling this very different and (let’s be honest) much bolder look than you’d normally see on our respective blogs, was a fun experiment, so let me show you my outfits:
Look one: Cocktail vibes with a pink jacket
This look is almost completely Long Tall Sally, bar the shoes, which I think add even a bit more edginess to the entire look.
If you see a tall girl in this outfit in a cocktail bar in Amsterdam during a girls night out, it’s probably me. 🙂 Though this look does not need too much accessories, it’s bold enough on its own with the pink and the strappy heels, I did add a few small stacked rings.
Look 2: Autumn vibes with white knits
A comfi look that’s a bit safer; the knitted sweater probably qualifies for the 30 wears challenge, and it’s just a simple, cosy look for hot chocolate and fireplace reads on Sunday.
Look 3: Pink blouse
You’ve seen the blouse before here, it was my first Long Tall Sally purchase and I like how it flows. Tucked in only half, it does give me the secure feeling that my bum is covered, yet it accentuates my long legs on the front.
Thanks to Lauren and Hofsisters, I now know that a leather look doesn’t necessarily mean I have to learn how to ride a motorbike (or drive a tank), and I have a few nice off-work, more daring options in my wardrobe.
A big thank you to the always stylish Lauren for teaming up me on this, and to see how Lauren has styled her pair, click here.
So I’m curious.. Do you have any leather looks and if not, would you consider wearing it?
